Grace

 

Grace is unmerited favor, specifically, the favor we have with God because of the atonement of Christ for our sins.  We don't have to suffer for our own sin and we don't need to hold other people accountable for theirs; grace speaks a better word.  

Forgiveness enables us to bear with one another in love, and the love of God through Jesus Christ enables us also to forgive ourselves.  

Lord, help us to walk in Your grace.  And, regarding our own chronic sinfulness,  please help us in repentance, to "...go and sin no more" (John 8:11)

Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair, persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.

Despite suffering, we are not crushed or driven to despair. We have not been forsaken or destroyed.  In the Lord we are whole, hopeful, comforted by His presence, and still viable by His grace.  God is with us; blessed be His Name!
