The Lord is With Us in Our Sorrows

The background of this meme is from a painting by my mom, completed just a few years before her Alzheimer's diagnosis.  

This fourth stanza form the classic hymn, How Firm a Foundation, is based on Isaiah 43:2: 

When you pass through the waters,

    I will be with you;

and when you pass through the rivers,

    they will not sweep over you.

When you walk through the fire,

    you will not be burned;

    the flames will not set you ablaze.

So many people across our nation and throughout the world are suffering loss of homes and livelihood because of flooding.  Let's pray for them:  Lord, keep them from despair, provide for their needs, and show them the next step to take to follow Your path out of the disasters they have suffered, in Jesus' Name we pray.
