Perspectives

We don't want to be so careful in not trusting our own perceptions of a situation that we put up with things that are not of the Lord. Sometimes it is easier to remain silent, even in the face of an injustice, than it is to speak, and we use "lean not on your own understanding"* as an excuse.

But we can tell the difference between a Holy Spirit nudge to speak against something that is wrong, and the outrage we feel when our own "rights" are trespassed against.

Giving up our right to judge a circumstance according to our own finite understanding is a continuing challenge in our Christian walk.

Prayer: Lord help us to remember that we don't have to stand up for ourselves because You are our advocate. We are not to judge others because judgment is Your sovereign responsibility and not ours. And we don't have to shut doors to relationship with those who have hurt us, because You are our healer.

Help us to love others as You have loved us.  Help us to release our rights to You.  Help us to trust that when a situation seems unfair, that You hear our prayers, and You will make it right because You love us.  You will either change our perspective or change the situation, but whatever is done will be done according to Your love and wisdom.  Blessed be Your Name, Amen.
